Message from President Pervez Musharraf

As a result of the prudent information technology policies, by the grace of Allah Almighty, today Pakistan is on the track of prosperity and development.

It has been our endeavour to provide a linkage between professional higher education and our industry. This is in order to ensure the seamless integration of the graduates of our universities into the rapidly developing information frontier. Graduates of Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology - National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES) have been the pioneers in the field of Information and Communication Technology. I am also delighted to learn that FAST graduates are at the forefront of leading Information Technology companies of the world.

I expect the Seventh All Pakistan Programming and Software Competition (Procom 2006) of FAST-NUCES, Karachi, will play a crucial role to significantly increase both the awareness of Information Technology, and facilitating the interaction of industry players with the developing Human resources capital of Pakistan. The experience you will garner while participating in this and such competitions will help you in your days ahead as a the information and communication technology industry leaders of Pakistan.I am very pleased that FAST-NUCES, Karachi Campus, has been continuing the initiative to enable its student body to launch Procom 2006. I am sure that Procom 2006 will lead to the continual improvement of quality and productivity to enable Pakistan face the challenges of rapid technological advancement.
